Summer Escapade 1: Dalaguete Beach Park, Casay Dalaguete Cebu

4/25/2015 04:02:00 AM

Summer - LOVE it or HATE it, but either way, the summer heat has become far less bearable which I think I wouldn't really love much. Iced tea, iced latte, ice cream, air conditioning in the office, cool water from the pools and beaches are some of the  things I can think of to brush away this sweltering, irritating heat of the summer. I'm not saying I hate summer. I totally love it, I swear! But there's something about summer that urges me to do either of these 2 things - wandering off to another town with my friends in search for a perfect summer getaway (leaving me penniless!) or just bumming around from couch to couch, spending all day long at home doing NOTHING productive.

Dalaguete Beach Park, Casay Dalaguete Cebu

Dalaguete Beach Park, Casay Dalaguete Cebu is one of the places we know would help us break and escape the scorching heat of the summer. It is located at Dalaguete, the Summer Capital and  considered the Little Baguio of Cebu. With its chilly uptown barangays and cold blue waters, this place fits for those searching for a perfect getaway.

It was my first time to visit the place and when I saw the beach, the blue waters instantly captured my attention. WOW!!  Yes, I know there are other beaches here in Cebu much way better than this but you can't blame me if I grew up living in the mountainous part of Negros Oriental, surrounded by green pastures and wide fields - totally no beach in sight.

Things I like about the Beach:

1. Cold, blue water indeed!
2. It is accessible and not that far from the city.
3. Entrance fee is just 20 pesos. (Lucky for us that one of our friend knows the gatekeeper. SO, no entrance fee for us).
4. The side of the beach looks like of Palawan (the way I see it!). Maybe you've noticed most of my pictures are focused on that side of the beach. (See picture above)
4. Obong spring is just a drive away from the beach. So when you've got enough time and energy, you can still go for another swim in the spring like what we did.
5. Cottages are of cheap rental price. You can even just rent a table if you really have a tight budget.
Cottage: Php. 260 with free videoke.
Tables: Php. 150

How to get there:
Ride a 2-hour bus to Dalaguete.
  • From the Mactan Airport, take a taxi to the Southern Terminal. This won’t cost you more than P150.
  • Once you get to the terminal, there are two routes for the buses: Oslob and Carcar. It doesn’t matter which one you take—both will pass by Dalaguete. The fare is P95.

You might want to add this on your summer bucket list. So, what are your plans this summer?

  8. Waaah Dalaguete is beautiful! I'm hoping we could have an outing there this summer. The beach is really crystal clear and blue! I'm so jealous you got to spend your day here. The cottage fee is not that expensive, too, especially there's a free videoke! I'll be laying out plans with my officemates so we can have a trip here soon. :D
