The Place:

Their Wine and Beer section features some exotic dishes, as well as native Filipino and Japanese food. They serve exotic foods such as Crocodile Fillet, Crocodile Sisig, and Ostrich Burger,  as well as other Filipino and Japanese dishes like sizzling pata, sausage, batchoy, chicken and beef teriyaki, and a lot more.

As with their drinks, they have a wide selection of beverages like Iced Tea/Juices, soft drinks, cocktails, wines, and beers for an affordable price. Their juices' names are superhero-inspired as well, like their Captain America's Purple Brew and Iron Man's Four Seasons.

Sumo Sam Restaurant, Cebu Opening Hours: Mondays-Sundays (11:00 am - 11:00 pm) Location: The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu, Cebu City

Sumo Sam is one of the leading Japanese chain restaurants in the Philippines serving excellent and authentic Japanese food in the city. SumoSam takes great pride in the transformation of the freshest ingredients into works of Japanese food art. Now, it has flourished into one of the largest Japanese chain Restaurants in the Philippines with close to 30 restaurants nationwide.

The Place:
I enjoyed the laidback atmosphere of the place. The ambiance is relaxing and the interior design is well-thought of - although it shows more of an American style and not more on the Japanese side. The place is spacious enough, which can cater large gatherings and events. I also appreciate the wide and welcoming outdoor seating at SumoSam, where the guests can engage for a light afternoon break after malling. I had a pleasant dining experience at SumoSam and the service was superb! I'd be delighted to pay a visit again soon.

SumoSam's Ebi Tempura Tempura will always be on top of my fave Japanese food list, and I think so does everyone. Japanese experience wouldn't be complete without this. A serving of SumoSam's Ebi Tempura consists of 5pcs of deeply fried tiger prawns with a size large enough to satisfy your cravings. One serving size can be shared by 1-2 persons.

SumoSam's Sukiyaki Ah, this! I so love their sukiyaki. It has this distinct taste - a combination of sweet and salty flavor - that I really love and enjoy, although others find the soup just too sweet for their liking. It was my first time to try out their Sukiyaki and I must say it was flavorful and good enough to be included on my top list.

SumoSam's Steamed Gyoza What I love with SumoSam's steamed gyoza is its sensational taste when paired with its special dipping sauce. One of SumoSam's delish and best-selling starters. They also have fried Gyoza available on their menu (Chicken or Pork). Serving size is good for 1-2 persons.

SumoSam's Squid Head Karaage Another SumoSam's starter. SumoSam's Karaage was ok and the serving is big, which I think could be shared by 1-2 persons. I love its crisp crunch flavor - although I think it would be best if it's paired with its own special spicy sauce.

Which Starbucks Holiday Treats do you like the most?

Who's excited for the weekend? We sure are, right? Be even more excited for Sugbo Mercado, the first and the biggest year-round weekly food and lifestyle market in Cebu will finally open this September 25-26, 2015! Starting with fifty food and lifestyle product providers, FOODIES (like me) will surely love and enjoy this. Who wouldn't? Different food stalls and other products featured all together in one place is just so ideal and is absolutely convenient.

WHERE
Located on a wooded, grassy knoll at the corner of Geonzon and Villa Streets (beside Avida Showroom Office) in Cebu IT Park, Sugbo Mercado is proud to partner with Cebu Holdings Incorporated. They bring together the best of the best of Cebu as well as budding new entrepreneurs in the local food and lifestyle products industry to showcase their products in a “tour de force” of local pride.

What to Expect
Joining Sugbo Mercado for our launching weekend are their co-presentors: the biggest global brand in online classifieds, OLX Philippines; the purveyor of the Philippine Experience, The Islands Group; and Digitel Mobile Philippines’ Sun Cellular.

“Kung dili na gamiton, ibaligya na” goes OLX Philippines’ tagline as it allows the exploration of the old saying that goes, “one man’s discard is another’s treasure.” Say, “Yesss, yaman!” at onsite pickups or swap meets, get free discount coupons from OLX to use at participating Sugbo Mercado tenants and catch OLX’s brand ambassador, Jewel, perform live onstage!

See who joined, and EXPECT more!

Entertainment
Sugbo Mercado goes local all the way to their entertainment with opening night performances by fresh, independent Cebuano talents. David Wilde X Zeejacob headlines the lineup with Jameson Tenorio and Smurf. Now Brisbane-based, international hoops sensation Celi Toledo drops in to spin. Rising hiphop star JID Durano’s music video for his latest single “Issues” goes on a second local public release with a feature performance by the man himself.

Initially operating on Fridays and Saturdays between 4PM to 2AM, Sugbo Mercado would also be an alternative open-air events space catering to corporate or product launches and roadshows on top of regular in-house entertainment activities like food showdowns, bands, shows, and other promotions.

Sugbo Mercado is also sponsored by the easiest way to order online from over 500 restaurants, foodpanda. It officially launches at Sugbo Mercado later in the month with a lineup of their restaurant-partners present. Catch the foodpanda Panda mascot live as it brings fun, prizes and surprises!

Contact (+63) 917 3088876 or message them on their Official Sugbo Mercado Facebook Page.
